Thanks to Spins Vixenella Shadowus Userus and Soap Fans United for this: Twitter: @YoplaitGreek Facebook: https://facebook/Yoplait?ref=nf Website: generalmills/en/ContactUs.aspx YOPLAIT GREEK has substantially underwritten General Hospitals #GHs Nurses Ball this year, and that is huge for soap fans. It was barely 3 years ago, Brian Frons was quoted in one of the Advertising/Media trade journals essentially telling professionals that advertisers were no longer interested in advertising on Daytime dramas. As with so much of what Frons was saying at that time, in retrospect, we found later that was just another in a long list of lies. But, nonetheless, that interview is still out there. So, it is amazing Yoplait Greek has gone to bat for us in such a big way. Im sure none of us will ever forget that feeling when Hoover pulled their advertising from ABC in the wake of ABCs cancellations of AMC & OLTL, and we tried hard to get other advertisers to join them. I think back to that time, and how much I wished we had worked hard BEFORE our soaps were canceled to build relationships with advertisers, and how much more effective we might have been had we had those relationships in place. We actually have the chance to do just that now. I propose we take this opportunity to foster the relationship with Yoplait Greek by thanking them for their sponsorship of the Nurses Ball. Obviously, nothing takes the place of buying a sponsors products, but in todays world there are also other important metrics companies take into account when deciding how to allocate their very important ad dollars. They actually look at things we might take for granted like the number of new Twitter, Facebook, Instagram followers a promotional campaign generates; how many visits to their website; how many comments on their website; how many pins on Pinterest and things like that. These are things we can all do for free and within 5-10 minutes. Please take a moment to Tweet , visit their Facebook page, their website, etc. and let them know you are a fan of GH or Daytime Drama in general and you appreciate their support for the genre. The more we acknowledge this kind of support, the more support these sponsors will give our shows.
