Thanks to all the great work by MANA members and the APRN coalition, SF 511 passed the Senate floor unanimously on Thursday afternoon. The bill will remove barriers to APRN practice in current law and is very close to the model legislation we were seeking to pass. Because of the hard work of members who spent hours at the capitol talking with legislators, and tireless work of the MANA Board, the bill also included language designed to be status quo for CRNAs performing interventional pain management. The language included in the bill was negotiated with the physician groups so they were able to remove active opposition to the bill, which resulted in the unanimous vote in support of the bill.
