Thanks to the efforts of thousands of NYC ColorOfChange members and partners, we helped build such monumental support for Paid Sick Leave in NYC, that the City Council passed a bill last year requiring employers to provide most NYC workers with at least 5 paid sick days, giving more than one million mostly Black and brown New Yorkers the opportunity to take time off to care for themselves or a sick child. Whats more-- NYCs new mayor, Bill de Blasio has reached a deal with the City Council Speaker to expand access to the paid sick leave benefit to *even more* New Yorkers.
