Thanks to the vocal efforts of a small minority, the media and advertisers have already launched their politically correct the holiday and holiday season politically correct speech - as though, it is morally reprehensible to mention Christmas. Im tired of it. So Ive written a reasonable, courteous note to express my feelings. Im sending it to TV & Print advertisers and anyone else who wants to take advantage of the Christmas season and spirit without mentioning Christmas. If you feel the same way, please share this and use it yourself. I am upset that you have found it necessary to delete the word “Christmas” from your promotional flyer. For more than 300 million Americans, the spirit of giving at this time of year is a demonstration of their “Christmas Spirit”. I believe that everyone is welcome to join in the celebration of Christmas. But, no one has the right to demean the faith and beliefs of so many good people by disrespecting their celebration of Christmas in order to accommodate the concerted efforts of a small group of individuals determined to turn Christmas into a secular holiday. It isn’t necessary to bow to the politically correct crowd who feel that they have a right to take umbrage at anything that they object to and demand that their pettiness rule over the wishes of millions. Just because Christmas is a celebration by the majority does not mean that it should not be recognized and shown respect. I hesitated about writing this. But, I believe that the silence of many good people is why only the opinions of those who would have “Christmas” disappear are being considered. It may be a cliche’; but, nonetheless, “All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to remain silent”. I hope that you will consider these thoughts as you continue your efforts during the Christmas season, and that you will include mention of Christmas – The reason for the Season. Sincerely,
