That awkward moment when you define yourself as Universal and - TopicsExpress

That awkward moment when you define yourself as Universal and United but not Catholic (the word catholic in Greek means universal aaaannndd THAT TOO is sooooo very awkward) and it turns out you arent united. And while you fancy yourself universal but not catholic you insist you have values without morals. And where you dismiss communion, you seek consensus in a disunity. So, I should think you should hate when your church elders skipped logic 101 to attend Native American spirituality (Im not being racist. . .its a basket weaving class that is necessary to attain a UU divinity degree mentioned in the article). So, because I am ecumenically diverse, I give to you the Universalist Uniterian Creed: I* believe in one Good, force almighty, maker of evolution beacon for all things seen and dreamed. I believe in one me, Good of Good, Light of Light, very Good of very Good; begotten or made, consubstantial from some changeable constant, for whom all things were made. Who because of evolution came up from primordial leaven. I believe in one wholly non catholic but universal, apoplectic institution. I acknowledge bureaucracy as the only sin and I look for the erection of the Übermensch and the time when the world will come. Amen. And your pull quote from the article: Unitarian Universalism is not a theologically grounded religion,” Ms. Brock said. “If we mess up our principles and values, we don’t have a theology to fall back on. We’re not Catholic — we can’t just keep giving communion until we figure it out. If we don’t have our values figured out, our institutions become pointless bureaucracies.” Disclaimer: (*I implies universal uniterians, not me)
