Discover how home movies have changed over the years. Early Kodascope Model C 16mm Projector. Patented in 1924 it was made in Rochester, New York USA in 1926. Eastman Kodak introduced the first ever 16mm home movie projector for use with their new 16mm film format. Its manual winding handle has a beautiful feel when running and turning by hand. The base is cast-iron and the lamp housing case is brass with a black enamel finish. The lens barrel is also brass with a black finish. Extremely heavy for its size the Model C is a very nicely built machine. Local Declan McLoughlin loaned Limerick Civic Trust this project and the accompanying transformer. He has dedicated over 20 years to his Limerick Film Archive and is a Project Manager for the Royal Picture Show Film Festival which kicks off tomorrow (Thursday) night @ 7.15pm with a screening of the Hitchcock classic The 39 Steps.
