The 1400 food kits we provided to Jammu administration yesterday have already reached Srinagar. Today, we have sent 1562 more food kits weighing 5 tonnes airlifted by GoAir. That’s a total of almost 3000 food kits in the last two days. During interaction with our assessment teams, the affected people have called for urgent need for relief material like drinking water, food, hygiene kits, blankets, etc. Latest reports pouring in from the state indicate that there’s also a fear of the spread of water-borne diseases. While we will continue to provide humanitarian aid, we will also be setting up health camps and Child Friendly Spaces on a regular basis. Save the Children is scaling up relief operations in J&K.
