The 30th Anniversary Cornhusker State Games are scheduled for July 18-27, 2014. Athletes of all ages and abilities will compete in more than 60 sports. Mission The Cornhusker State Games is a program of the Nebraska Sports Council. The mission of the Nebraska Sports Council is to provide quality competition for amateur athletes of all ages and abilities and to promote healthy and active lifestyle choices. Company Overview The first Cornhusker State Games in 1985 offered 19 sports and attracted 4,000 participants. In 2013, the the Cornhusker State Games attracted 12,343 participants in more than 60 competitive and participation sports. Participants came from 80 counties; the oldest official participant was 87 years, the youngest was 12 months. Description Martial Arts – Taekwondo DATE: Saturday, July 26, 2014 TIMES: Black Belt & Athlete Meeting: 9:30 a.m. Competition begins: 10 a.m. SITE: UNO Campus, HPER Building, Omaha (View map) NOTE: Age determined as of July 26, 2014. The director reserves the right to combine events depending on the number of entries. There will be NO ADMISSION OR GATE CHARGE for spectators at this event. EVENTS: Sparring Forms DIVISIONS: Divisions will be set based on entries received. Divisions will be based on age, rank, height, and weight. Black Belts must specify Dan level (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) RANK STRUCTURE TO BE USED: Consider the number of promotions you have received, including stripes, when registering. Beginner: (0-2 promotions) First 3 belts - white, orange, yellow Intermediate: (3-5 promotions) Next 3 belts - green, blue, purple Advanced: (6-8 promotions) Last 3 belts - brown, red, recommended black Black Belts: 1st Dan and higher. Include rank-level when registering (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) AWARDS: Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
