The Aam Aadmi Party demands that the Delhi Police should not soft - TopicsExpress

The Aam Aadmi Party demands that the Delhi Police should not soft pedal its probe into the communal violence at Trilokpuri in East Delhi, and particularly the role of former BJP MLA Sunil Kumar Vaid. There is enough evidence to clearly establish that former BJP legislator Vaid had hatched the conspiracy to spread communal hatred in the area and it needs to be investigated to establish the level of involvement of BJP higher ups in this conspiracy. The ground report by AAP teams from Trilokpuri show that though the situation is under control, but tension among communities still remains. The increased police presence in the area has helped in bringing the situation under control. The AAP hopes that the Delhi Police will impartially unearth the conspiracy and expose its masterminds. It is surprising that the Delhi Administration is yet to ensure adequate supply of eatables and other essential commodities in the violence hit areas and the prices are shooting up adding to the miseries of the affected people. The AAP appeals to people to ensure peace and calm, particularly during religious processions and other such programmes. What happened in Trilokpuri seems to be a sequel of communal skirmishes in poll bound western UP a few months ago. Office bearers of the UP BJP, their MPs and other leaders were seen inciting the communal hatred in Moradabad, Saharanpur and Muzaffar Nagar and some of them were also booked by the local police. Instead of discouraging and punishing its local leadership for it, the top leadership of the BJP rewarded them. The outbreak of communal violence in Trilokpuri at the time when the BJP was gearing up for elections seems too much of a coincidence. (ENDS) Regards. AAP Media Cell
