The Abbey Community College Notes! Sixth year Art students enjoyed an educational and cultural day out in Co. Meath recently when they visited The Stone Age passage graves at Newgrange and Knowth. Students took a journey back through time when they got to see firsthand the amazing skills of Ireland’s Stone Age farmers who built these incredible monuments over 5000 years ago. Students also visited the Interpretative centre where many Stone Age exhibits were on display to enhance their experience. They analysed the layout, lighting, display and success of the various exhibitions. This cultural experience and fun day out is part of their Art History Appreciation Leaving Cert course and one the students thoroughly enjoy!
