The Abyssal Plain: The "Atlantic Lightning" bullet train has been built from New York to London using the pressure at the bottom of the ocean (The Abyssal Plain) as a conduit to drive the train at speeds not achievable on land. The train can get passengers to England in 3 and a half hours (like the Concorde) but for a fraction of the price. The story follows a former pastor turned train conductor who is forced to take action to save his passengers when design flaws, human error and a jewel heist produce a cataclysmic event which threatens everyone on board.
