The Affordable Care Act! It has taken more than 230 years being a US country to finally have health care for EVERYONE. Had it been in place, my Aunt Maggie would not have sat feebly dying of cancer without pain medicine much less corrective and preventative medicine. She was just too poor. Folks, and especially young folks, if you live long enough you will inevitably need care for your body. Right now its easy to invest in cars, electronics, food, and fun but I advise you to get educated abut health care and seriously consider the Act. Huge changes like this arent made instantly and perfectly, and are always subject to alteration for the better later if necessary. I urge you to give this a chance; support it because it is a good thing for the American people now and for future generations. Most of us are never going to be mega wealthy that we may pay for our health care. Health insurance fills the gap just like auto insurance, dental insurance or any other insurance does. When I have a heart attack the bill usually averages about $36,000.00 including the hospital stay and I have an episode about every 2 months. When I had a full cardiac arrest the bill was about $73,000.00. Since 1995 I have been hospitalized for hip replacement, joint pain, pneumonia, colonoscopy, dehydration, (thank goodness for spell check) bleeding and anxiety, cardiodefiberator/pace maker implant, 9 stints and stints inside of stints in my heart, to name a few of my illnesses. Some of my doctors include dermatologists, gastrologists, podiatrists, pain management specialists, optometrists, dentists, as well as my primary care doctor, to name a few. Could you pay out of pocket for any or all of that right now? Even if you gave up that car or that ipad, you couldnt get through the door. Can mom, dad, granny, your boyfriend, lover or welfare provide descent care that you may need? Answer honestly. Look--- Ive been through most all of it. Growing up, liniment, moonshine, Vicks salve and cole oil was the medicine; a piece of bed sheet was the bandage; a boil was relieved with burning paper in a jar; a nail in or through the foot was removed, wiped off and forgotten; most of my siblings were born at home in mom and dads bed; mumps, measles, chicken pox, cuts, bruises, fleas, ticks, lice, crabs, colds, stomach aches and other common ailments were tolerated or ignored. My little sister fell and broke her arm, I rolled it up in her dress and took her home. Dad raised hell that he had to take her to the doctor and pay for a cast. Needless to say when I broke a toe, finger, nose, tooth or rib I damn sure never complained to anyone. I rode it out. You folks will never have to go through that. Bite the bullet AND GET THE DAMN MEDICAL INSURANCE. IM TIRED OF PAYING FOR YOUR HEALTH CARE!!!
