The Age of Appeasement Is there a stupid contagion competing - TopicsExpress

The Age of Appeasement Is there a stupid contagion competing with Ebola? I ask this seriously in regard to the recent effluvium of commentary about Israel by people who know nothing about the country and who recently seemed intelligent enough to keep their mouths shut about it. But no. The recently unelected member of Congress from Ohio, Dennis Kucinich, whose political opponent ran footage from Kucinich’s old appearance on the Dating Game (who would appear on the Dating Game and then think they could run for President?), just penned a letter to Congress asking Congress to repeal its ban on negotiations with Hamas. That was published just hours before Hamas scurrilously terminated a ceasefire after 90 minutes by gunning down two, or perhaps three Israeli soldiers. Dennis, good luck with that. Scratch that – I can’t even say it in jest. Then, after Hamas’s demonstrated treachery, as if the world needed yet another demonstration, a former congressional candidate from Kentucky (don’t laugh), who happens to be on my Facebook friends list, wrote this in a comment on his own idiotic post: “Israel should defend itself without using force.” If you’ve been wondering why Kentuckians build Creation museums and giant replicas of Noah’s Ark, while electing politicians like Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul, you now have your answer. It’s because the opposition Democrats in Kentucky say stuff like “Israel should defend itself without using force.” Or Im pro-coal. Think about that for a moment. Israel should defend itself without using force? What should they do, place daisies into the Hamas gun barrels? Make a phone call to Vladimir Putin since that has worked out so well for Barack Obama and Ukraine? Use positive incentives like lifting the Gaza embargo on guillotines and plutonium triggers? The irony is that these same self-styled Hamas-loving “liberals” have at some point in their ineffectual lives uttered the phrase “Never Again!” to show in public that they have “learned the lesson” of the Holocaust. What is that lesson to them? That the six million Jews who perished in Europe made the mistake of defending themselves by force? That all people enjoy the right of self-defense except for Jews? That the Jews could have avoided the Holocaust if only they had been more diplomatic? These Hamas-loving liberals pride themselves on being beyond all prejudice. They rally for civil rights as long as it involves no personal discomfort and they love to deride Republicans as racist. But the truth is that the people mouthing these imbecilities reveal deep-seated anti-Semitism. They inherently believe that Jews are evil and bear original sin for some cosmic crime. And their bias is beyond redemption. No matter what Hamas does – no matter how grotesque its barbarities -- these folks will always blame the Jews. And that is precisely the calculus on which Hamas banks. The world descends toward a reign of terror. And as last time, its because the tyrants have learned that the more they attack the Jews, the more liberals will crouch in appeasement.
