The All India Basis counselling yesterday at TNNLS was loooking like South India basis counselling. Whenever anyone took admission, everybody started clapping as if a miracle has happened. I was there till 50 candidates name were taken and around 20 would have taken admission. By that time I was very clear that being a double dropper is far more easy than living there for 5 years. As I got out of the hall. A boy and his father suddenly came towards us and after knowing I was from Madhya Pradesh he started talking in hindi. And what I heard from his father was the exact same thing I was facing for the past 2 days. He had already taken admission but he was in doubt after seeing TNNLS and after we had tea together he became convinced that it was not worth it. He went straightaway to withdraw admission. Someone from Delhi too did the same thing after meeting us and sharing his concerns. The campus of TNNLS is nowhere near amazing, rather its still incomplete. The arrangement for holding counselling was pretty dubious too. There were around six photographers who would jump on any student who took admission. I also saw a man with a videocamera and he was holding mics of five different tv channels. Whats the need for all this ? Are they doing all this just to show jayalalitha ? It will take a minimum of 5 years for TNNLS to even compete for a spot in the top 12-14 NLUs. The place also takes toll on you. Go there only if you have nothing to choose and are willing to work your assess off fighting against the circumstances there. NLUJA is heaven compared to TNNLS.
