The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the 2011 governorship election in Abia State, Chief Reagan Ufomba, has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Chief Theodore Orji, stole his mandate. Speaking after Eze Isaac Ikonne conferred on him a chieftaincy title in Aba, Ufomba said: The truth of the matter of the 2011 governorship election was that APGA won the election but I was denied victory.” Ufomba, who despite the presence of the state Deputy Governor, Sir Emeka Ananaba at the event, said: “The 2011 guber election in the state was massively rigged; we have the original result; we have evidences that I won that election. “Like everybody who does not have the anointing, this government will continue to misbehave and that is why when they go to the people, the people will reject them through various means, by booing at them and by throwing sachets of water at them and that is what you get for sin. Like they say, the wages of sin is death but here the wages of stolen mandate is bad governance and booing.” He said what happened at the venue of the chieftaincy installation was a clear manifestation that Abia people wanted him to be their governor and that he was prepared to do that in 2015 through their mandate. Earlier, the Abia State deputy governor, while extolling the virtues of the traditional ruler, urged supporters of the APGA governorship candidate in 2011 to conduct themselves well, stressing that despite political differences, people of the state were brothers and sisters. He thanked God for preserving the life of Eze Ikonne, who used the occasion to mark his 85 years birthday and 41 years on the throne.
