The Alternative View Our Work is Not Yet Done Fellow Singaporeans, you can now safely vote for the Opposition and not have to worry about being denied basic amenities Without the brave electorate of Hougang, Punggol East and Aljunied blazing the trail, we would not have seen the PAP climb down from this particular bully pulpit known as the Peoples Association. But dont be fooled. There is much injustice that the PAP continues to perpetuate today through various mechanisms to suppress both the voice of the citizens and true democratic politics, such as the GRC, the Peoples Association itself, the lapdog mainstream media, and the grassroots organizations that are always trying to sabotage the elected Opposition MP. Issues like AIM, YOG overspending, perpetual train breakdowns and bus delays have been brushed aside like nothing happened. The PAP today continues to shove policies down our throat, policies designed to consolidate its hold on to power. Good examples are the Population White Paper, the billion dollar Project Jewel and the continued domination of PAP members in supposedly neutral investment agencies like Temasek Holdings and GIC which operate with zero true accountability. Ministers like Chan Chun Sing continues to see the citizen activists as enemies to be engaged and fought against at every street corner. This is political gangsterism at best.
