The American Bar Association loves its women lawyers -- especially those doing big, BIG things. The ABA Commission on Women in the Profession honored five women during the ABA Annual Meeting with its 2014 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award for professional excellence and for actively paving the way to success for other women lawyers. Established in 1991, the award is named for Margaret Brent, the first woman lawyer in America. Brent arrived in the colonies in 1638, and was involved in 124 court cases in more than eight years, winning every case. This years honorees were: ** Nancy Gertner -- Cambridge, Mass. ** Anastasia D. Kelly -- Washington, D.C. ** Allie B. Latimer -- Washington, D.C. ** Judge Kathryn Doi Todd -- Los Angeles ** Marissa C. Wesely -- New York Each spoke following their award presentations, and the videos of their speeches -- as well as their laundry list of legal accomplishments -- can be found here: bit.ly/1sTU3l2 Great achievement.
