The Armagh Rhymers. These folks are one of Europes most celebrated folk theatre ensembles. A respected professional group of entertainers that have delighted audiences for over 30 years with our unique blend of Mumming, poetry, music, drama, song and dance. Their style is deeply rooted in the old Irish Mumming traditions and they are easily recognised by their willow masks. Important messages for the week. #1 Claddagh Club will meet on Tuesday night in Nicholson. We will have a better venue this time—not the noisy environs of Romo’s Café. We don’t have a room yet so meet in Romo’s and we will proceed to our meeting place. #2 The Activities Fair takes place this Wednesday. We need volunteers to man our table. On Tuesday night we can decide who will be there. I will have green beads for our potential members. #3 This coming weekend is the Pittsburgh Irish Festival. I will be there on Saturday morning. If you wish to come to the event let me know on Tuesday night at our meeting and we can plan. #4 The De La Gente festival occurs on Saturday on campus. This is a great event and we will want to take part. I am sure you will see the posters and if you have questions—check with Victoria Snyder in Student Life. #5 Thursday afternoon from 2:30 to 4:30 in Wheatley Center is the First Thursday Get-Together, an international event sponsored by the Center for Global Engagement. One of the best events of the semester. There is always good food and fellowship. I hope to see you there. #6 Last week we had a number of great suggestions for the coming semester and at our meeting we will continue to plan. #7 We have the best T-Shirts and at our meeting on Tuesday let’s get ready to place a new order. #8 We have two exchange students for Ireland—Killarney and Balbriggan. Let’s make sure they are at our meeting and provide for them the warm reception that we receive in their country. #9 We have an important event planned for September 19. Sean Tyrrell, who as been at RMU before, will be performing. We need to raise some money to pay for his appearance and we need ideas. I will help as much as I can. #10 We need to start talking about the Irish trip next May to Ireland.
