“The Auditor General’s report reveals the truth that the Governor’s economic program is not working,” said committee member Rep. Jim Townsend (D-Royal Oak). “The MEDC and the MSF have thrown away taxpayer dollars by backing companies that have only created a fraction of the jobs they claimed they would bring to our communities. Michiganders had to suffer through another rise in the state’s unemployment rate between April and August. Our workers deserve better from this administration that keeps saying Michigan is on the right track. Clearly,the MEDC and MSF job creation program has derailed.”
