The Australian Government really needs to come clean and first of all inform the Australian people of loop holes they have in the immigration system and then rectify them preventing overseas consortium’s buying up our business’s allowing them to take advantage of these loop holes to bring their families here bypassing the normal system. In this case it is a Chinese consortium, but believe me there are plenty of other countries involved in this scam. Currently our system allows for this..! This means that they can buy a business and then bring their families here to work for a 2 year period and automatically get an Australian passport and citizenship. Most of these families are coming here and working for “free” or a very minimal wage for these consortium’s for the 2 year period just to get this benefit. They will invest as little as $5000.00 each to become part of the schemme and then there will be one big ivestor to cover the balance. There is nothing wrong with foreign investment but not at the cost of Australian jobs...! How do I know this? Because I amongst many others including cleaners, maintenance and trades people are 1 of these sacrifices. The property I manage has been for sale for some time now, around 5 years. It has just been bought by one of these so called consortium’s which I believe involves around 15 individual families who have put very small amounts of money into it with one big investor paying the rest. For the past 2 months they have been visiting and asking if I am prepared to continue managing the property to get the sale through. They have been trying to get me to reduce the amount of money I receive for my role which I have been adamant will not change from the first meeting. Now the sale is final and it changes hands on Monday. On Tuesday I was in my office when a Chinese national came in. I asked if I could help him and the reply was that he was here to view the property and the way it ran including the managers apartment, my home. I said why would you want to do this and he replied “because I am taking over the running of the complex” Now in short, as of today I still do not have a concrete contract so I may be homeless on Monday after settlement. This consortium intends to buy 10, YES 10 holiday complex’s here on the Gold Coast and bring their own in to manage them and maintain them. WHY? Because they are going to work for free or a very minimal wage to gain access to an Australian passport. This is not only happening here but all around Australia and Australians should be aware of what is taking place and how the security of jobs and Australian owned businesss are being taken from us through these immigration loop holes. Mr Abbott and all Australian political parties need to be put on notice!
