The BBCs three part series, The Ottomans: Europes Muslim Emperors, broadcast over the past few weeks, has disappointed a lot of Muslims and historians as it projected a historically incorrect secular description of the Islamic Khilafah state during the Ottoman period. The programme series attributed successes of the state to other than the injunctions of Islam that were in reality applied comprehensively across all the main fields, namely the social, judicial, economic and political setup of the Uthmani khilafah.
