The Betty Hutton Show (also known as Goldie) October 1, 1959 - June 30, 1960 (30) one half hour episodes (one season) in B&W on CBS Created by: Stanley Roberts Produced by: Desilu and Hutton Productions CAST Betty Hutton --- Goldie Appleby Dennis Olivieri --- Roy Strickland David White --- Mr. Strickland Gigi Perreau --- Pat Strickland Peter Miles --- Nicky Strickland Tom Conway --- Howard Seaton Gavin Muir --- Hollister Jean Carson --- Rosemary Norma Varden --- Aunt Louise Opening Theme Betty Hutton Show Theme Composer: Jerry Fielding STORYLINE Goldie Appleby (Betty Hutton) is a manicurist who amoung her clients is Mr. Strickland (David White) a millionaire. Well this particular millionaire dies and leaves Goldie all of his money, except ..... he also left her his three park avenue kids. The oldest Pat (Gigi Perreau) is a teenage girl and then theres the boys, Roy (Dennis Olivieri) and Nicky (Peter Miles). Helping Goldie along is an attorney Howard Seaton (Tom Conway) and her Aunt Louise (Norma Varden) who is responsible for some of the better laughs in the show. The rest of the comedy arises when ex-showgirl Goldie tries her own brand of parenting on three well reared children and the situations that naturally follow someone who is way over there head but refuses to admit it. This comedy had good intentions and great actors but it never seemed to be able to fire on all cylinders at the same time. It was also scheduled opposite the immensly popular Donna Reed Show which helped to seal its fate. https://youtube/watch?v=YpbNAOxCtAQ
