‘The Bible’ sequel makes Christmas splash Producer Roma Downey announces, The epic story continues On March 3, 2013, a staggering 13 million Americans tuned in to cable television’s History channel to watch the first episode of “The Bible.” The 10-hour series became the cable TV hit of the year, as it racked up a cumulative 100 million views retelling the story of Genesis to Revelation. On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015, the makers of “The Bible” promise, “The epic story continues,” as the tale of Peter, John, Mary, the man who would be called Paul and the birth of the Christian church comes to NBC in the “A.D.” miniseries.
