The Big Spring Police Department issued a press release about a heroin arrest: As a result of a Crime Stoppers tip, on the 11th of April 2014, at approximately 10:00AM the Big Spring Police Departments Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at Motel 6 room 232 (600 W. Interstate 20). Upon entry into the motel room, investigators located 3 grams of Heroin packaged with the intent to be distributed as well as a small amount of marijuana and prescription pills. Scotty Ray Bland W/M DOB 12/9/78 and Melinda Gamboa W/F DOB 5/22/76 were both arrested and charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Felony 2. The Big Spring Police Department commends the citizens of Big Spring for the collaborative work with the common goal.
