The Black Hole of Sin The gravitational pull of a black hole is so - TopicsExpress

The Black Hole of Sin The gravitational pull of a black hole is so strong that not even light can escape its pull. Black holes are massive cosmic vacuum cleaners that allow nothing to escape their pull. Nothing known to man is strong enough or fast enough to break a black hole’s massive grip. Sin is like a black hole because when a person gives into sin and violates the teaching of God, then sin has a grip on that person that is beyond man’s power to break. People who sin do so by choice (Jam. 1:14-15) and are said to “oppose themselves” (2 Tim. 2:24). The good news of the gospel of Christ is that the creator of black holes is strong enough to break the grip that sin has on sinners. Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ Satan’s grip on man was defeated. When Jesus ascended back into heave he took with Him the keys of death and hades (Rev. 1:18). Through His death, Jesus destroyed the one who had the power of death, that is, the devil (Heb. 2:14). The blood of Christ now forgives sin when men submit to the terms of forgiveness as found in the gospel. Those who obey the gospel are free from the death grip of sin (cf. Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 Pet. 3:21; Rom. 6:3-4).
