The Blue Bishops have been incredibly fortunate with bass players. Our first founding member bassist was Graeme Wheatley whose lyrics still feature in our songs and who has gone on to form the critically acclaimed Little Devils. Then we were lucky enough to bring Martin Turner into the fold for a stint lasting over 8 years. No need to elaborate on his amazing credentials, as one of the pathfinding bass players in UK rock. Since Martin went back to the music of Wishbone Ash, the love of his life, I was recommended to contact Jim Rodford by Geoff Nicholls, a musical compadre from an earlier band of mine. He was spot on and Jim, one of the nicest men ever to pick up an instrument, remains on bass, dividing his time between us and the Zombies. But when Jim isnt around the backup has been amazing. Jon Noyce from Tull and Gary Moores Band has added inspired playing, Russ Rodford, son of Jim, who is often to be seen with us when his dad is away, and of course, we mustnt forget Chris Hook, founder of Voyager. Chris has done many gigs with us in the past and this is one that I, personally, feel sums up the blues side of our rocky coin. Its at The Shire Hall Howden. A great venue. ,youtube/watch?v=qiNlASAcSxA
