The British Acupuncture Society (BAcC) do not recognise many - TopicsExpress

The British Acupuncture Society (BAcC) do not recognise many different types of acupuncture such as original Chinese acupuncture or NHS medical acupuncture and if they succeed with their second attempt with Royal Charter recognition the BAcC might be in a position to steer the Acupuncture process to their own advantage, and as such this may lead to other Acupuncture groups not being recognised by private medical insurance or even in time find their right to practice challenged. The BAcC is not the largest group in the UK nor the most authoritative and have no basis for Royal charter status. This is very relevant to all therapists because if accepted this is likely to set a precedent in the UK and this could lead to the restriction of practice on other types of therapies such as Massage, Reiki, etc.
