The British Council Afghanistan conducted an exhibition of artworks produced by Afghan disabled artists on ‘Peace and Disability’ from 22 to 24 October 2014 in Mazar-e-Sharif. The exhibition took place in Community Centre for the Disabled (CCD) Balkh office, Balkh University and Ariana Park. This was the second exhibition of a series of exhibitions in Bamiyan, Kabul, Herat, Kandahar and Helmand provinces. This project is a British Council initiative through which 50 war-effected, disabled artists from different parts of the country were trained by painting and calligraphy instructors from Turquoise Mountain Institute and Centre for Contemporary Arts in partnership with Community Centre for the Disabled (CCD). The art pieces have already been exhibited to hundreds of Afghan and international audience in Kabul earlier this year.
