The British High Commission recently invited a couple of MLAs & me - TopicsExpress

The British High Commission recently invited a couple of MLAs & me for a first of its kind political engagement program for the MLAs to UK. The engagement included a host of topics like devolution and political arrangements in Northern Ireland, The Commonwealth and the Role of CPA, Governance in the UK: from the European Union to Local Government, Curbing corruption in local government – a session with UKTI & Members of the anticorruption APPG, discussions on the Scottish Independence Debate, Roundtable discussion with Members from the Indo-British All-Party Parliamentary Group, Conclave on Smart Cities & Sustainable Cities and a very interesting session with Royal United Services, (the world’s oldest military think tank). Besides these activities, we also got to engage with MPs of Asain origins & their thoughts on India relations with the UK & how we could strengthen it further economically. This engagement also gave us the opportunity to pitch the Govt. of Karnataka’s policies on Industry, Energy, Tourism & IT. I hope this will bear fruits in the coming months. It was a great learning experience & most importantly a matter of great pride that I got the opportunity to represent my Country, State & Gulbarga in the Common Wealth forum. I am sure that my state & my district will see the results of this tour in the months to come.
