The CFI of the Asian and Pacific region has been stable for the - TopicsExpress

The CFI of the Asian and Pacific region has been stable for the second month in a row. Serious imbalance between the number of vessels and transportation demand is still observed in both SE Asia and the Far East, not allowing shipowners to raise freight rates. Cargo traffic to the western ports of India keeps slowing down gradually as the weather gets worse, but tariffs for transportation by small-tonnage vessels remain stable in the Indian Ocean, and so does the CFI of the region, which has been unchanged since last year. Trading remains dull in the Baltic and North Seas. The CFI of the basins and the whole Atlantic region stays firm. Almost no changes have been recorded in the Mediterranean Sea region this week. Market participants are still waiting for a new grain season. Weak transportation demand at the Black and Mediterranean Seas allows charterers to keep the rates low. The CFI of the regions has not changed either. The cargo traffic from the Russian ports of the Azov Sea has decreased to the minimum, pushing the CFI of the basin by a slight 0.3% down in a week. However, it has not affected the CFI of the whole Mediterranean Sea region and the world in general.
