The COCAC(ommunicator) – SAVE THE DATE!!! When YFL mentioned that I was taking a hiatus from writing The C(ommunicator) on a daily basis my computer took that as a cue to stop working. All fixed now. I know you are all overcome with joy. Here is wishing CR Garet Johnson a speedy recovery. Saturday a week ago Garet and her husband, Steve, were riding when she hit a pot hole in the road and had a terrible fall. She broke her left clavicle, cut open her eyebrow and punctured her eardrum. Garet has had surgery to put a plate in her collarbone. She is a tough cookie and I’m sure that she will be back on the bike as soon as she is able. Cooler weather can only mean one thing. Well, it could mean a lot of different things, but in this case it means that it is time to get together without helmets and spandex and see what each other looks like fully clothed and in the light. On November 14th East Charlotte Nissan will host all CRs and FOTCs for a cookout, thanks to ECN’s chief cheeses CR Spencer Lueders and FOTC Geoff Secora. You won’t want to miss it. Free food AND you will see and order the new kit for next year. Almost November! Time to start slowing down outside and doing some training inside. As for the former, YFL is not suggesting that The Peloton slow down, rather that any riders of The Peloton who wish to slow down (like CR Chris Guella) should consider riding with Chase One. Also, Harvey’s ride from Stonecrest cranks up again on the first Sunday in November. 65 miles of conversational pace. (That means you should be able to complete and entire sentence while pedaling.)
