The Calaveras County Water District is pleased to welcome three new board members, who took their oaths of office at their first board meeting on Wednesday, December 17. District 3 Director Bertha Underhill was elected president, and District 2 Director Terry Strange was elected vice president – both won their seats in November. Also new to the board is District 4 Director Dennis Mills. District 1 Director Scott Ratterman retained his seat in November’s election, and District 5 Director Jeff Davidson also continues on the board. He did not run in the last election since he is in the middle of his term. District 1 Supervisor Cliff Edson made a presentation to the Board about his watershed management plan. The Board gave Edson support in his endeavors to improve water supply, reduce fire danger and create jobs. President Underhill will likely appoint board members to committees at the next board meeting, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, at 120 Toma Court, San Andreas.
