The Comforter is the Holy Ghost and the Holy Ghost is the spirit of Christ. The Spirit of Christ is our teacher, our advocate, our memory restorer, and the spirit of truth just to name a few. It is written I will not leave you comfortless John 14:18. The word comfort means beside or next to. In other words Jesus will not leave your side. when the bible is talking comfort He is not talking the things of the world because the world cannot receive the comforter and they see Him not neither do they know Him John 14;17. So know when the flesh needs to be pampered it cannot get any comfort because flesh cannot receive the mind of God. So if God is not in the business of comforting the world then we must ask yourself what type of comfort is the spirit of christ talking about. He is talking about comforting us in the things that pertain to the Kingdom of the Father. We often are looking for God to give us answers to mortal questions and concerns when His spirit is trying to take us to a higher level than mortal life. The Holy Ghost can only reveal to you what He hears from the Father so He can teach you what it is the Father is wanting to convey to you.. Not only is the Comforter standing by your side but He is also in many of us just waiting for us to allow Him to advocate in our behalf. All the things over the years that has been spoken that hardships, trials and tribulations has taken from our thoughts of remembrance the Holy Spirit is wanting to remind us of those promises. Not only does he want to remind us of them but reveal the truth of them. I said all of that to say this when is the last time you really thought about the spirit of truth and advocatsy living in your flesh? When is the last time you yielded your memebers unto to Him so he could comfort you in the depths of His truth. If the world cannot receive Him, see Him, and Hear Him why do we follow and dwell on what the world is doing? We need to get our focus off of the cares of this life so the Holy spirit can do all the things for us with us and to us that has been promised, and pretisned of the Father.
