The Constitution Amendment Bill, 2014 has been passed in the Senate. The vote was taken at 11 PM (28/08/2014) and saw 18 Senators voting for the Bill, and 12 against. Three Independent senators Rolph Balgobin, David Small and Dhanayshar Mahabir voted in favour of the bill. The bill will now go to the President for proclamation before it becomes law.
