The Copperas Cove Fire Department is now accepting applications for the 2014 Citizens Fire Academy set to begin March 13. Through classroom presentation and hands on exercises, citizens will achieve an enhanced awareness of the department’s capabilities and limitations as well as a better understanding of why they do the things they do. Classes will be held one night a week on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.for 7 weeks with an end of class hands on project and graduation on April 26 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Applications and more information can be found on the City’s website at copperascovetx.gov/pages/fire_department/fire_academy.htm or by visiting the Central Fire Station located at 415 S. Main Street. The lobby is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., excluding holidays. Applications are due no later than Feb. 28 and space is limited, so get your applications in early!
