The Copperas Cove Police Department arrested Gregory Lee Loper Jr. on Friday at 2:04 a.m. in the 500 block of Westview Lane with a warrant for driving with an invalid license. Cove police assisted the Coryell County Sheriffs Office in arresting Loper for contempt in the form of nonpayment of child support. A dog valued at $300 was reported stolen on Friday at 9:42 a.m. from the 1700 block of Joan Drive. Cove police assisted the Coryell County Sheriffs Office in arresting Sean Patrick Nelson in the 500 block of East Highway 190 on Friday at 11:53 a.m. with an affidavit of surety to surrender principal for unlawful carrying of a weapon. Emery Lee Frye was arrested at 3:33 p.m. on Friday in the 800 block of West Avenue B with a warrant for assault by threat. Willie Hawkins was arrested in the 200 block of West Avenue B on Friday at 7:23 p.m. for driving while intoxicated with a BRAC equal to or greater than 0.15 percent. A hit and run accident was reported on Friday at 10:06 p.m. from the intersection of Veterans Avenue and Craig Street where an unattended vehicle received damages costing more than $200 to repair.
