The DWP said they had been overpaying me for the last 10 years, and wanted me to pay back over £24,000. They said I didnt tell them about Neils money coming in when we married! I knew I had. We asked for a mandatory reconsideration and also for the form that I filled in about the change of circumstances. It said does your husband get incapacity benefit? I ticked yes. Then later I filled it in wrong, I put the amount he gets in the wrong question. They are very complicated to fill in, and I didnt put it where I should have. We told them that I had said he got the money, and the amount was on the form, but in the wrong place! They should have been able to see I made a mistake and asked me to explain and correct it! They have reconsidered it and said we are right they should have seen the form was not filled in right, and that I had told them so they said I dont have to pay them back so I am a very happy bunny today!
