The Department of Library and Information Studies was honored to host Prof. Lynne McKechnie of Western University on Monday, March 31st, for the Spring 2014 Seminar Series. Prof. McKechnie presented her interview study with boys 4 to 12 years old, who provided their own perspectives on their reading. The results were that boys are reading, but their choice of materials are not typically privileged by librarians, teachers, and parents. Prof. McKechnies presentation was well-received, and directly applicable to both the fields of education and library and information studies. We thank her for sharing her research, and appreciate the turnout by the DLIS community!
