The Dog Rescuers Thats it. Weve crossed a line somewhere in the Twilight Zone. Just now, on the way back from Carpinteria, we spotted two scruffy little doggies (pictured) running along the side of the 126, dangerously close to running into traffic, and we pulled over. It took about 15 minutes because they were scared and scrawny and obviously in need of some attention. But we got them into the car. We took them to the Castaic shelter but its not the end of the story for us. One way or another, we promised to find these buddies a home. They hold them for 5 days and then theyre up for adoption. Were going to keep checking on them and we will foster them if we have to so they wont be put down. Theyre both sweethearts. The short hair is female and looks to be a chihuahua mix while the long hair is a male and looks to be a Yorkie mix. The male was pretty skittish but seemed like he would be ok with some attention.
