The Dubuque Fire Pipes and Drums: Free Celtic Music Concert Sunday October 26 @ 3 PM University of Dubuque, Blades Chapel Guest performer will be Adrian Melvin, world renowned bagpiper and instructor. Adrian will be in town conducting a Bagpiping seminar with the Dubuque Fire Pipes and Drums on Saturday October 25 and 26, and will finish the seminar with a free concert. Adrian Melvin started his piping at the young age of 13 under the instruction of his father, Pipe Major Kenneth Melvin and Pipe Major Ian Duncan. Adrian came into his own rights while competing at the World Championships and winning 1st place in 1998 with the Victorian Police Pipe Band. Adrian has also won numerous solo awards throughout the years. Adrian moved to the United States from Dundee, Scotland and enjoys teaching, judging, and performing all around the world. Among his many piping achievements, Adrian has performed with the Chieftains at the Chicago Symphony Center and appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show.
