The Eagle has landed! I back home safe and sound and ready to do - TopicsExpress

The Eagle has landed! I back home safe and sound and ready to do some resting on my leg and adjusting back to California time. The flight from Madrid to San Diego was long and tiring. Ill have a couple years to forget about how long the flight there and back was before I go back to Spain. I was glad to see all my family there at the airport to greet me back home. Everything went smooth without a hitch. Going through customs in Chicago was not a problem, the fellow with the rubber gloves was very gentle and didnt have a Super Bowl ring on his finger. I was impressed with the US Department of Arigicultures law enforcement team. It was a woman with a beagle dog going through the crowds of people waiting in line to process through coustoms. On the flight they have you fill out a form declaring what youre bringing back into the country. I saw this beagle nail about four people for bringing fruit into the airport. A couple of bananas and some oranges. People forgot they had them in there baggage but the dog was really good. I wonder if those people got fined for lying on their form? Overall, I had a wonderful time on my journey in Spain. The land is beautiful and rich with scenic vistas of times that date back 1000s of years. The people are the kindest Ive met and really very helpful to anyone in need. Family and belief in God is very strong throughout the country and everyone is always open for a party or celebration. And let me tell you these people really know how to party to the wee hours of the morning, its like everyday is Mardi Graus and young and old all get together for the occasion. While I was in Madrid, I had the chance to visit its Naval Museum. It didnt dawn on me how many Spaniards discovered most of our unknown world at the time. We owe so much to these people for the risks and willingness to just sail away and find new lands and people. California was basically settled and discovered by Spanards willing to risk their lives for the sake of discovery. Just in the way I discovered the Country of Spain. I truly believe that everyone should travel there and discover for themselves the rich history and sites and food this country has to offer. I loved everything about my trip to Spain, even my bad knee. It slowed me down so that I could appreciate the wonders and sites, and I didnt pass up on stopping and smelling the flowers I passed each day. The smells of nature are embedded in my brain, so that when I smell that odor, It will remind me of Spain. For those of you who enjoyed reading my post, Im glad I was able to share my experience with you in some small way. It pleased me to read the kind comments and words of encouragement during the hard days. I do feel a sense of accomplishment that I havent felt in a long time. Challenges like this makes you feel alive by taking you out of your comfort zone that stops you from trying new things. It awakens the adventurous nature deep in your soul and strengthens your body and mind. I want to thank again all my family and friends who supported my journey and I would love to repay that love and support to each of you throughout your life, thank you from the bottom of my heart, mind and soul! Now to start processing photos and working on a photobook of my trip! Love you all!
