The Ed Sullivan Show would like to wish a very happy birthday to Mick Jagger. The Rolling Stones frontman turns 71 today. Born in county Kent, England in 1943, Jagger developed a love for singing at a young age. In the early 60s, he moved to London with his former classmate Keith Richards, who shared Jaggers interest in American music, particularly rhythm and blues. Together they formed the earliest incarnation of the band for which they would become famous for, then known as the Rollin Stones. The band was perhaps the biggest beneficiaries of the British Invasion launched by The Beatles in 1964, making their first of six appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show in November of that year. They would go on to become one of the worlds most popular musical groups, with Jaggers undeniable charisma leading the way. Jagger continues to perform with The Stones, who are currently on a world tour slated to end this fall. Happy birthday Mick! youtu.be/ROAKlnaMuRw
