The European court of Justice will be asked to decide whether obesity is a disability under EU law after the case of a 25 stone childminder was sacked as he couldnt tie a childs shoelace...he had done the job for 15 years and was employed by his local authority in Denmark. The ruling could be significant for employers in Britain as businesses could be asked to approach obesity just like any other physical or mental impairment - access to the office, seating and car parking may have to be reviewed rather than face being sued for discrimination.
