The FA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has attributed the early exit of the Black Stars at this years World Cup to the appearance fee syndrome. But l wholly disagree with Mr Nyatakyi. Our early exit is a clear indictment on the FA. The circumstances that led to our exit is just unacceptable. Ghana has become a butt of joke in the entire world and youre here justifying your sloppy decisions and exonerating yourself? Sport administration in Ghana sucks. With all the allegations of match fixing flying around, who knows if these off the pitch turbulences were pre-meditated just so someone can cash in at the expense of the entire nation? The greed and Shirking of responsibilities by the FA is becoming unbecoming. They must all bow down their heads in shame The entire black stars management committee, the FA president and Coach Kwesi Appiah need to follow the mutineer players out the team for good. Somebody did not do his job and I dont think the boys are solely to blame. Hear him: Money, money, money had been the refrain by the players, and it is a pity they allowed this to ruin our World Cup. We want cash, we want cash, was the message of the agitation being championed by an alleged notorious “gang of three” It is not as though anybody wants to deny the players their monies, but we explained to them that, per the agreement with our financial sponsors, uniBank, before departure for the tournament, the amounts have been put on a card (or uniBank Mastercard) to be withdrawn here and given to them. Felix, l tell you, you cant believe it that in spite of all the promises to them that the Sports Minister had asked that physical cash be sent from Accra to satisfy their demands, these boys threw caution to the wind with all manner of behaviours that I cant recount. “Could you believe it that because the money delayed in coming, they pronounced the Honourable Minister a liar and virtually banished him from coming to the teams base? This is how far these boys went, and it is unfortunate to say the least. Yet they could not deliver against the Portuguese.
