The Federal Government has gutted Race to the Top funding out of their budget! This funding and the fear of having to return the money or jeopardizing future funding was the argument put forward by the proponents of the ill conceived Common Core standards that has been so destructive to our schools and our children. Hopefully now we can examine the legislation submitted and written by Ed Ra and myself to provide our children with the best educational experiences possible. Ed and I will be fine tuning the bill this year. New York has been ground zero in the debate against Common Core. We have chipped away at it over the last year. This is the last piece of the puzzle. I want to thank everyone for their dedication and hard work over the last year. Your hard work and support has made a difference. We have more work to do but with your help we will be able to protect our children from this ill conceived and destructive educational experiment.
