The Federal Opposition has left open the possibility of passing more than $3 billion worth of budget cuts to family payments, saying it will look sensibly at the measures. The Government announced a raft of changes to the family tax benefit system in the budget, which - if passed - would save the Commonwealth $7.5 billion. But Labor has ruled out any support for the move to halt the Family Tax Benefit - Part B for families when their youngest child turns six.
