The Fire Science and Ecology Program Lead position for the NPS Fire and Aviation national office in Boise is now open. The position: *Provides authoritative advice and information in formulating, establishing and implementing policies and programs of national scope relating to land, resource, and fire management activities. *Initiates, develops and ensures the execution of Bureau policies in accordance with Departmental policies, objectives, regulations, and guidelines to meet the objectives of resources and the national fire program through the fire sciences and ecology programs. *Responsible for identifying research needs, identifying opportunities to analyze, adapt, and apply research findings from any source to solve resource and fire management issues with new scientific advances in fire management. *Coordinates with national planning, operations, and resource program leaders to develop and integrate wildland fire into planning strategies and guidance, as well as the converse into fire management planning.
