The Governor and Speaker say that more studies are needed to determine if income sensitivity benefits affect how people vote on school budgets. The Tax Department recently released data that shows how much income sensitivity lowers the total tax bill and school tax bill for the 107,940 eligible house sites by income. The average is about 40% for the first and 56% for the latter. See Percent Total Tax Relieved and Percent House Site School Tax Relieved columns. Keep in mind that there is no separate funding source for income sensitivity but the property tax, so non-income sensitized property taxpayers are footing this bill. bit.ly/1aqqIKH Do you think this level of relief affects how people vote on their school budget?
