The Grade 2 band was placed 5th yesterday in the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow. That followed on from representing the RSPBA and Scotland in leading out the Team Scotland athletes parade from Kelvingrove Park to George Square. What an amazing weekend! As if the grade 2 band wasnt busy enough , the Novice Juvenile Band qualified for their final, meaning their PM Anne Spalding played 4 times. The Grade 2 band had a great run in the Qualifying coming 2nd behind the pace-setters and worthy champion of champions this year, Bleary Pipe Band. The work we have done as a team this year certainly paid off with a 1st for ensemble. Then we moved onto the final in the Grade 1 arena. This was the most amazing feeling ever marching up to the line with friends across world tuned in watching us. Despite a real soaking as the rain swept in just as we came to the line we put in a great performance. The Mac-Cal team have had a great season, our best in Grade 2 building on a breakthrough 2013 season. A sincere thanks to all those who have helped in all sorts of ways this season, and to all those who maybe didnt hit the line but whose contribution was every bit as important.
