The Greater PineBelt Community Foundation is excited to announce on Tuesday, July 23rd at 7 p.m at William Carey University, PineBelt 360, will introduce the E-Factor initiative to help pre-school and elementary grade children drastically improve their reading skills. Local educators in partnership with Tony Evans Ministries will meet at WCU’s Student Conference Center, located in the university’s Wilkes Dining Hall. The goal of E-Factor is to develop a meaningful partnership between PineBelt churches and schools to help children meet the standard set by recent Mississippi legislation requiring third grade students to read at grade level before advancing to fourth grade. Van Jones, PineBelt 360’s Executive Director says, “Intervention is needed at the early childhood and primary school level to get children reading at grade level.”
